AGILE Program at the National Institute of Justice has a mission to assist state and local law enforcement agencies to effectively communicate with one another across agency and jurisdictional boundaries. It is dedicated to studying interoperability options and making valuable information available to public safety agencies across the country.

Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) is the world’s oldest and largest not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications.

Bureau of Justice Assistance Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (LLEBG) program may be used for procuring equipment, technology and other material directly related to law enforcement functions.

Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is the office of the U.S. Department of Justice that advances the practice of community policing in America’s state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies.

Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management contains information and forms for use with various grants the DHS&EM administers.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers information on federal disaster assistance and funding.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau offers federal resources/grant information related to public safety and homeland security.

It also operates research, education, and training programs designed to advance knowledge of philanthropy at every level.

Grants.gov is your source to find and apply for federal grants. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is proud to be the managing partner for Grants.gov, an initiative that is having an unparalleled impact on the grant community.

Justice Technology Information Network (JUSTNET) is the official web site for the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) system, JUSTNET lists many grants and funding sources in the Virtual Library as well as various publications on communications interoperability.

Technology Opportunities Program (TOP) supported demonstrations of new telecommunications and information technologies to provide education, health care, or public information in the public and non-profit sectors. Provides grants for model projects demonstrating innovate uses of network technology.

U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) offers funding opportunities to conduct research, to support law enforcement activities in state and local jurisdictions, to provide training and technical assistance, and to implement programs that improve the criminal justice system.

U.S. Fire Assistance (USFA) grants and funding contains information on financial assistance available from the U.S. Fire Administration and other Federal agencies for fire departments and other first responders, including the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP)

  • MSU Grants for NonProfits focuses primarily on grants or funding sources for nonprofit organizations. You should also take a look at Grants for Individuals.

  • Rasmuson Foundation through its competitive grantmaking programs, the Rasmuson Foundation awards grants both to organizations serving Alaskans through a base of operations in Alaska, and to individuals for projects, fellowships and sabbaticals.

  • TechSoup Global is one of the most comprehensive technology resources for NGOs in the world. Working with corporate donors, including Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, and Symantec, TechSoup provides nongovernmental organizations, nonprofits, libraries, and community-based organizations with the latest professional hardware, software, and services they need.

  • UAA Foundation Center Library - grants information is located on the first floor by the reference library.

  • U.S. Department of Education offers discretionary grants to organizations, agencies, and individuals. These are awarded using a competitive process. Anyone who meets the eligibility requirements can apply.
